Hi there, and welcome to AKA: Landing. I’m Anneliese, also known as Annie. I left my dream job in NYC as a brand strategist to pursue the near-polar opposite: working on sustainable farms across the country (through an organization called WWOOF).

Though I loved my job, I found myself increasingly curious about life outside of the corporate, urban bubble that is Manhattan. I’d always been passionate about sustainable agriculture and food systems, and had been most excited when working with agriculture clients like the USDA and Blue Apron. I’d traveled extensively internationally, but not domestically within our beautiful country. I grew up on a horse ranch in south Florida, but had only lived in urban centers for the better part of my adult life. So, I architected an experience that will allow me to explore and satisfy these different curiosities and appentencies. 

My plan for the course of this adventure is as follows. The unique combination of these three elements is what I’ve dubbed, “landing”.

• Increase my knowledge about our country’s food systems and farmers through firsthand labor
• Admire the abundance of natural beauty in our country and explore places I've never been
• Figure out where—and for what—I’ll permanently "land" for next
